Expanding Access to Free, High-Quality Public Education

Washington’s charter public schools are small but mighty—serving a diverse student body and delivering strong results. But they remain misunderstood, underfunded, and under constant threat. With opposition fueled by misinformation and politics, WA Charters needed a bold strategy to build support and protect students’ futures.

True Blue launched a multi-year campaign to shift public perception, build grassroots power, and position WA Charters as a vital part of Washington’s public education system. We developed a facts-forward, storytelling-rich approach—elevating student voices, building parent advocacy, and reaching new allies across the state. Our campaign spanned video, digital, social, legislative advocacy, and rapid response.

The result? We expanded the base of support, activated thousands of advocates, and helped protect school funding and autonomy during a critical legislative session.

The campaign was recognized nationally for its innovative approach to education advocacy.
